Jesus Christ personally carried the load of our sins in his own body when he died on the cross.
Peter 2: 24 (The Living Bible)
By Erich Remmers
A beam along, a beam upright of rugged wood, strong and severe,
guides us through life.
Why then has God, who knows each hair and never tempts beyond despair
given us a sign of strife?
That's why I question often, God's purpose with a voice not soften
in times of dark and sorrow.
I cry: "I need to your purpose to see here, when full of fright and fear
I need your courage for tomorrow."
A beam along, a beam upright of rugged wood, strong and severe,
That here He hung with our sin hit
He shouts then when the others hissed; he cried aloud "it's finished!"
descending to a darkened pit.
Now Light defeats the dark, and brings alive the eternal spark,
It's only now that I can know
A beam along, a beam upright of rugged wood, strong and severe,
Is where God's life in us may grow.
