A Prayer

God of our fathers and our God, give us the faith to believe in the ultimate triumph of righteousness...
We pray for the bi-focals of faith that see the despair and the need of the hour but also see, further on the patience of our God working out the plan in the world.

Give us the long view of our work in our world, your world. Help us to see that it is better to fail in a cause that will ultimately succeed than to succeed in a cause that will ultimately fail.

May your will be done here, and may your programme be carried out, above party or personality, beyond time and circumstance, for the good of all and the peace in the world. Through Jesus Christ our Lord.
